    Secure Hosting Solution

Onsite-Live uses one of the most powerful and secure hosting services in the UK. We understand the importance of data availability and security, and have invested heavily in our hardware solution, ensuring you get your data when you need it. Every task is backed up using separate dedicated servers. The following describes the protection put in place to ensure your data stays safe.

    Security

Onsite-Live servers are physically protected using an extensive CCTV system, monitored live and in real-time by 24/7 security staff. CCTV recordings are stored and retained for 90 days. Site access is protected using anti-tailgating, mantrap security doors, controlled via proximity access and control.

    Airconditioning

Onsite-Live servers must be kept at an optimum temperature to ensure data integrity and avoid hardware failures. Servers are monitored constantly through an array of temperature and humidity sensors. Temperature is controlled using energy efficient 'dry coolers' with ambi-cool technology.

    Fire Detection and Supression

The risk of fire is taken very seriously, and this is the reason why data floors use cutting-edge fire detection systems. Specialist facilities use a multi-zonal fire detection system, with ionisation and optical detectors building-wide. In the event of a fire getting past the detection system, it is suppressed using FM-200 Heptafluoropropane, a server-friendly substance that will not damage server hardware.

    Power

Servers must have a continuous, uninterruptible supply of power. To ensure this, servers are connected directly to the national grid via two 11kV connections, both fed from separate substations. The site uses two independent critical-power distribution systems per data floor. In addition, each system is backed up through an independent battery UPS, and finally two large generators kick in, in the event of a total black out.

    Connectivity

The hosting company are members of the London Internet Exchange (LINX), which is the largest internet exchange point in Europe. This allows a very fast connection and lots of bandwidth for you to retrieve your data on.
